When the flood hit a month ago, no one expected it. At first, we didn't expect it at all, and then we didn't expect it to be as big as it was. When we knew how big it was going to be, it was so historic, so huge, that we couldn't even have any expectations.
But now we have one of several small victories. With a plea from Pelican State Credit Union to get back up and running as quickly as possible, to get through the massive backlog of mobile branch waiting lines, we came up with a solution: use what you already have and don't go mobile.
We enclosed their drive through with translucent corrugated paneling on studs, and added a swamp cooler to make an area of respite for people who were in dire need of getting to their financials without having to drive through suddenly horrible traffic. The drive through allowed us to give them a more normal branch layout with teller stations and room to move around, unlike a mobile branch. And we set it up so that construction traffic for fixing the main branch wouldn't have to cross traffic going back into the "new" drive through branch. When the permanent branch is restored (and upgraded!) the temporary walls will come down, and the drive through will go back to normal.
We cannot be more proud that Pelican allowed us to help them come up with an innovative, on-the-fly solution for their needs. We thank them for trusting us with their issues so that we can stand by our tag line and be their "One Source, One Solution".
